"Kiss Of Death" is their 23rd album. And according to Lemmy what a fine one it is: "It's better than "Inferno", and "Inferno" seems to be the favourite of the later years so far", claims the man who lives on a steady diet of Jack Daniels and Marlboro. "It's better songs. Better arrangements and a better performance from me vocally, and a better performance from Phil Campbell on the guitar, he plays great on the songs." Lemmy is proud of what he has achieved with "Kiss Of Death". And he has every reason to be so, with these 12 tracks, recorded at LA's Paramount studios and produced by Cameron Webb, Lemmy, the Californian by choice and self-declared king of "The Rainbow Bar & Grill" (the only one allowed to smoke indoors!) sets a new standard for himself. It all starts off with the wild, over the top, aggressive "Sucker". A brutal piece of biker-rock with dirty killer-riffs, heavy double bass-drum, and a voice you will never forget - ever. It's Lemmy, of course, ranting about his very own private mission as the dangerous rock-psychopath you should not mess with. And he delivers that threat with a manic voice full of hatred and rusty steel. It's Motörhead at their sickest best. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277

David Cassidy made his name as one of the stars of seminal TV show The Partridge Family. Following the programme's demise, he carried on the role of teen pop heartthrob with some aplomb, becoming the most popular artist in the teen market with (for a time) the largest fan club in the history of the music industry. When the teen audience's attentions waned, he carved out a successful career as a musical actor both in the West End and on Broadway, before establishing a series of very successful Las Vegas residencies. Now with a recent world tour and new album complete, David Cassidy looks set to embark on another stage of a glittering career. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277

Since their inception in 2003, the Welsh quartet Bullet for My Valentine have been taking cues from '80s metal bands and the punk-infused metal of the new millennium to make melodic, dark rock with, well, metal tendencies. Coming from Bridgend, South Wales -- breeding ground for the likeminded Funeral for a Friend and LostProphets -- the group consists of childhood friends Matthew Tuck (vocals/guitar), Michael Padget (guitar/vocals), Jason James (bass/vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). Everyone in the group, except James, had been performing together for a few years in Jeff Killed John, when the day before entering the recording studio, their bassist abruptly walked out. Regrouping under the new name Bullet for My Valentine with James on board, the guys reworked their sound and were signed at their second gig by London's Visible Noise. They released a self-titled EP in the U.K. in November 2004, and their debut full-length, The Poison, appeared that next fall. May 2005 saw the band sign to the U.S.-based Trustkill, re-releasing their EP, titled Hand of Blood, in August. That same year they won Kerrang!'s Best British Newcomer Award and headlined the magazine's XXV tour. With February 2006 came the U.S. release of The Poison, followed by a nationwide tour in support of Rob Zombie before Bullet for My Valentine headed back to the U.K. in June for their third stint at the Download Festival. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277

Scotland's Runrig was formed in 1973 as a trio by Rory MacDonald, Calum MacDonald, and Blair Douglas, adding Donnie Munro the next year. Douglas quit and was replaced by Robert MacDonald, who died of cancer in 1986. The band went through a number of lineup changes before settling on the MacDonalds, Munro, Peter Wishart, Iain Bayne, and Malcolm Jones. Runrig plays a version of traditional Scottish folk music with a more anthemic rock sound; they are known for pride in their heritage and their spirited energy. The band has been on a steady rise in the U.K. since signing with Chrysalis for their biggest-selling American album, The Cutter and the Clan. While popular in Britain, they remain largely a cult band in America, with followers in the Celtic and folk arenas. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277

New York's Interpol reminds anyone who has ever heard post-punk bands like Joy Division and the Chameleons of those exact bands, plus a few more. They started playing out frequently, including regular appearances at clubs in and around New York like Brownie's and the Mercury Lounge. A brief tour of the U.K. in April 2001 was punctuated by a radio session for John Peel's BBC program; at that point, the band was touring in support of a limited-edition EP released through the Chemikal Underground label's Fukd I.D. series. (They had also appeared on a compilation that was released just prior to Fukd I.D. called Clooney Tunes for another U.K. indie, Fierce Panda.) 2001 also saw a self-released EP from the band and another compilation appearance on Arena Rock's This Is Next Year, a double-disc set of Brooklyn-area acts. Matador signed the band in 2002 and issued a three-song single and the band's debut LP (Turn on the Bright Lights) by year's end. The album made the band indie stars, and extensive touring around the world followed. Just prior to releasing their second album (Antics) in September 2004, they opened for the Cure as part of that band's Curiosa Festival. Our Love to Admire, the band's first album for a major label (Capitol), was released in 2007. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277

Primal Scream's career could in many ways be read as a microcosm of British indie rock in the '80s and '90s. Bobby Gillespie formed the band in the mid-'80s while drumming for goth-tinged noise rockers the Jesus and Mary Chain, who were the exact opposite of Primal Scream -- the latter specialized in infectious, jangly pop on its early records. After a brief detour to punky hard rock, the group reinvented itself as a dance band in the early '90s, following through on the pop and acid house fusions of the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. « back to list » « close panel » | | | | | book by phone | | apollo theatre | | we recommend | 0844 847 2277
