Rufus Wainwright has always had a flair for the dramatic. However, the acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter has never carried it beyond the pop arena – until now. Together with a top-notch team of collaborators that includes American director Daniel Kramer, French conductor Pierre-André Valade and English designer Antony McDonald and leading British soprano Janis Kelly, Wainwright brings the world premiere of his first opera to MIF. As early-morning light floods into a Paris apartment, a woman struggles to rouse herself from a fitful night’s sleep. Once a soprano with a powerhouse voice and a reputation to match, she’s now a forlorn figure, disdained by critics and forgotten by audiences. But the diva is determined to prove her doubters wrong: all she asks is a chance to reprise the role that made her reputation all those years ago…Composer: Rufus Wainwright. Director: Daniel Kramer. Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes. « back to top

As an undisputed national treasure
and the world’s favourite children’s
author, Roald Dahl has enchanted young
minds over more than twenty five years
with stories that still fire the imagination,
bring dreams to life and release squeals
of both terror and delight. The BFG
is classic Dahl and this brand new
stage show promises to mix up heart-pounding
adventures with life-long friendships,
jumbly words and even some whizzpopping
in front of the Queen! When little
orphan Sophie is snatched out of her
bed in the dead of night by the BFG
she fears the worst, but unlike his
grisly neighbours the Bloodbottler
and the Fleshlumpeater who like nothing
more than swalloping human beans,
especially nice little childers, the
Big Friendly Giant is a dream maker
and not a man-eater. Performance times:
Tues - 7pm, Wed - 11am & 2pm,
Thu - 2pm & 7pm, Fri - 2pm &
7pm, Sat - 11am, 2pm & 6pm. «

Double
double toil and trouble, fire burn
and cauldron bubble. The wickedly
spooky tale of how Scottish warrior
Macbeth became king is coming this
way. It’s full of gory murders,
weird witches, gruesome ghosts, bloody
battles and even a forest that moves.
Are you brave enough to see it? Shakespeare
4 Kidz promise plenty of excitement
with their stunning musical version
of the play! Performance times:
Monday - 1.30pm & 7.30pm, Tuesday
10am & 1.30pm.

Amore is a perfect mix of Dean Martins

the very talented and very gorgeous
“Goldiggers”. All interspersed
with some very special guests including
portrayals of Nat King Cole, Shirley
