Since
winning the 'Stars in their Eyes'
Grand Final 2000, polling nearly one
million votes, Gary Mullen has carved
out an excellent live career for himself
as the mercurial Freddie Mercury.
His performance is so astonishing
and accurate that Brian May himself
has written that Gary bears a remarkable
likeness to Freddie, and in more than
just voice and appearance on stage!
For the first time in UK theatre,
Gary presents the real live Queen
experience - the sound and the look,
combined with the showmanship, pomp,
style and incredible musicianship
that was the hallmark of Queen in
concert. The show features Gary backed
by his superb four piece band - The
Works - hand picked to emulate Brian
May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor,
along with the most spectacular stage
set up, stunning costumes and terrific
special effects - just like Queen
themselves. One Night of Queen returns
to the Palace for two nights in December
2009, so if you simply love this show,
you may want to book in advance. «

Rufus Wainwright has always had a flair for the dramatic. However, the acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter has never carried it beyond the pop arena – until now. Together with a top-notch team of collaborators that includes American director Daniel Kramer, French conductor Pierre-André Valade and English designer Antony McDonald and leading British soprano Janis Kelly, Wainwright brings the world premiere of his first opera to MIF. As early-morning light floods into a Paris apartment, a woman struggles to rouse herself from a fitful night’s sleep. Once a soprano with a powerhouse voice and a reputation to match, she’s now a forlorn figure, disdained by critics and forgotten by audiences. But the diva is determined to prove her doubters wrong: all she asks is a chance to reprise the role that made her reputation all those years ago…Composer: Rufus Wainwright. Director: Daniel Kramer.
