| Revealing
the fetishes and naughtiest secrets of real people
in their own words, acclaimed character comedian
and actress Lizzie Roper delves into the nation’s
views on sex. Characters as varied as an adulterous
accountant and a celibate therapist inhabit the
stage in this brilliant one-woman show, which
wowed audiences and critics alike at the Edinburgh
Festival, and enjoyed a sell-out run in the West
End last year.

Theatre) |
|
| Sunday
8th June 2008 - 7.30pm |

Having sold upward of 6 million albums, Morcheeba
perform at The Lowry to support their new record,

CARA
DILLON (Quays
Theatre) |
|
| Sunday
8th June 2008 - 8pm |

of the most original and stunning singers of traditional
music. Cara won the All Ireland Singing Trophy
at the age of 14 and went on to sing with Oige,
De Dannan and Equation - where she met husband
and musical collaborator Sam Lakeman. Whether
she's singing her native songs of lost love and
emigration, or their original compositions, you
will be hard pressed to find a more emotive and
captivating performer. (back

COME
ON, JEEVES (Quays
Theatre) |
|
| Monday
9th to Saturday 14th June 2008 - 8pm |
| Starring
the legendary Victor Spinetti, well-loved British
star Anita Harris, Judy Buxton (On the Up) and
a supporting cast to be announced. Whilst Bertie
Wooster is out of town, his gentleman's gentleman,
the inimitable Jeeves, is on loan to the Earl
of Towcaster. The Earl, known as Bill, has been
losing heavily on the gee gees, so decides to
become a bookie in the guise of Honest Patch Perkins
but it doesn't quite go to plan! With an unpaid
bet, a furious punter on his heels, a loud, wealthy,
widowed American clairvoyant wanting to buy his
crumbling mansion and his fiancée and his
family asking awkward questions, this could be
a challenging day for Bill, which only Jeeves
can sort out in his usual impeccable style. This
sublime comedy, from a writer whose work contains
some of the most memorable verbal sparring and
witty one-liners ever written, follows the great
success of the recent hit Dangerous Corner (The
Lowry, 2007). There
is a 2pm matinee on the Wednesday and Saturday.

ROMEO
ET JULIETTE (Opera North)
(Lyric
Theatre) |
|
| Tuesday
10th and Friday 13th June 2008 - 7.15pm |
|
Gounod’s most successful opera after Faust
is also one of his least conventional works. Although
he generates much excitement in the clashes between
the feuding Montague and Capulet families, Gounod
keeps the opera tightly focussed on the lovers,
for whom he composed a succession of magnificent
duets. John Fulljames, who staged an imaginative
Hansel and Gretel for the Company in various concert
halls last year, directs two young stars-in-the-making
in the title roles. Sang in Italian with English
titles. (back

SIMON
AMSTELL (Lyric
Theatre) |
|
| Sunday
15th June 2008 - 7.30pm |
| Simon
Amstell made his name presenting music shows on
Channel 4 and Nickelodeon before taking over as
host on BBC’s anarchic music quiz Never
Mind The Buzzcocks. He quickly stamped the show
with his own unique and irreverent personality
and went on to collect two prizes at the British
Comedy Awards. His material is challenging and
playful – delivered with enormous charm
and just a little of the trademark sarcasm we’ve
come to expect. Brilliantly sharp and criminally
funny. (back

CRAIG
DAVID (Lyric
Theatre) |
|
| Monday
16th June 2008 - 7.30pm |
| Part
recorded in Havana, Cuba with producer Martin
Terefe (KT Tunstall, James Morrison) and writer/producer/mixer
Fraser T. Smith (Kano, Beyonce, Plan B, Jamelia),
‘Trust Me’ finds Craig David pursuing
a more soulful approach, with a looser live band
style than on his previous albums. Other highlights
include the ballad ‘Awkward’ (featuring
guest vocals from unknown 17 year old Rita Ora
from west London) that offers some of his most
evocative lyrics to date, the infectious hook
and insistent rhythms of 'Don’t Play With
Our Love', and ‘She’s On Fire’
which combines sublime bass with Craig’s
fluid lyrical flow. Heralded as his finest work
since breaking through with his debut album ‘Born
To Do It’, ‘Trust Me’ features
the hit singles ‘Hot Stuff (Let’s
Dance)’ and ‘6 of 1 Thing’.
Craig David’s next single, ‘Officially
Yours’, will be released on May 12th. A
multiple-award winner who has earned three Ivor
Novello Awards (including Songwriter of the Year
and Best Contemporary Song), four MOBOs (one of
which was for Best UK Act) and two MTV Europe
Awards, Craig David has worked with a talented
array of artists including Sting and Artful Dodger’s
Mark Hill and Pete Devereux. Craig David also
recently featured on Kano’s Top 20 single
‘This is The Girl’, a track that he
also produced and co-wrote.

| Tuesday
17th June 2008 - 2pm & 8pm |
| An
icon. An orgy. A dissenter. Caught between heaven
and earth, a demi-god falls from grace. Inspired
by The Bacchae, Euripides’ masterpiece of
rejection and revenge, aod’s Bacchic explores
the epic battle between ecstasy and restraint.
Using stunning aerial theatre, storytelling, music
and movement, this is a provocative look behind
the mask of the guru to question our faith in
heroes. Most suitable for ages 14+. (back
