Delicate details and lively melodies take centre stage in this dance-driven evening led by Sir Andrew Davis. At the fore, twists and takes on traditional dance forms in Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin and La Valse, and Stravinsky’s Apollo and Suite No. 1.
All of this is preceded by an elegant display of the classical style both composers were yearning for in one of the world's leading concert pianists Angela Hewitt’s performance of one of Mozart’s most beloved piano concertos, Piano Concerto No 23 in A (K 488).
