Queer as…Saying Yes

Sex educators and queer speakers from across the UK take part in a series of discussions at Contact as part of their Queer as F**k programme.
Thursday starts with a workshop exploring consent – and the importance of informed consent to relationships of all kinds – led by Chantelle Walker from BHA for Equality. Afterwards, we create space to make noise. Take a chance to sing, shout, and find your voice with a choir session full of queer anthems and protest songs led by Ashleigh Dowler.
LGBT Foundation will be back with a pop-up stall that’s your one-stop-shop for sexual health information (including those questions you might feel shy to ask).
Chantelle Walker works at BHA For Equality, which is a health and social care charity aiming to challenge and address health and social care inequalities and support individuals, families, and communities to improve their health and well-being
Chantelle is the Inclusion Lead working on the sexual health project; PaSH (Passionate about Sexual Health) which is a partnership between BHA for Equality, George House Trust and the LGBT Foundation. The partnership delivers a comprehensive programme of interventions to meet the changing needs of people newly diagnosed with HIV, living longer term with HIV or at greatest risk of acquiring HIV.
Ashleigh Dowler is a singing teacher and vocalist based in the north-west of England. He trained at both Elliott-Clarke Theatre School in Liverpool and The Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance in London. He has worked as a professional vocalist on an array of projects including jazz festivals, national and international touring productions, cruise ship musical entertainment and function bands.
