Gripping historical drama "Ashes in the Sky" recounts one part of the remarkable life of resistance fighter Neus Català (1915 – 2019) – Catalan, feminist and anti-fascist – who survived to the age of 103 and was a keen defender of historical memory to the end.

In 1945, after the Nazi camps were liberated, Neus returns to France, where she hopes to be reunited with her husband, Albert.

As she rebuilds her life as a free woman, she remembers the events that took place the previous year, when, as a prisoner of the Nazis, she was made to work in a munitions factory.

Despite, the cruelty and inhumanity of her captors, she valiantly continues her resistance by leading the careful sabotage of the weapons they make.
