Haircut One Hundred

The return of Nick Heyward's 1980's new wave jazz funk pop band forty years on from the release of their much-loved debut album, "Pelican West", which saw the group move from being London underground darlings to chart sensations in less than six months, reaching no.2 in 1982 before, within a year, disappearing into pop’s ether, leaving behind one memorable album and four Top 10 UK singles - "Love Plus One", "Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)", "Fantastic Day", and "Nobody's Fool".

The bright, burning, brief career of Haircut 100 highlighted their powers – high speed funk, to-die for pop and sweet melodies against the backdrop of Haircutmania and the high-octane energy of youth.

A re-release of the album by Demon Records also includes the first-ever release of the eleven tracks that the band were working on in late Summer 1982 for the follow up album to Pelican West, to be titled Blue Hat For A Blue Day. Although unfinished, the five instrumentals, one guide and five vocal tracks enthusiastically illustrate what would have happened next.
