Manchester Central is an award–winning venue in the heart of Manchester that hosts a variety of concerts, events, conferences, seminars, expos, sporting events, and gala dinners thanks to its flexible spaces. The Central Hall can accommodate up to 10’900 in a theatre style seated capacity, with the Exchange Auditorium holding up to 804.
Instantly recognised for its iconic arches and station clock, these features have been a Manchester landmark for over 140 years! Formally known as the GMEX Centre (opened 1986 and was Manchester’s main music venue until 1995), Manchester Central is located in the former Manchester Central Railway Station (opened in 1880) and is a Grade II listed building. It gained its current name in 2007, and a huge renovation followed.
Concerts have included an eclectic mix of the world’s best artists including Snow Patrol, Marilyn Manson, Manic Street Preachers, Status Quo, Morrissey, and has even hosted X Factor finals!
