Let the Whale Die

Meg Shadler’s darkly funny, provocative new play is a strange and unsettling journey into the mind of a woman who’s stopped explaining herself and has no intention of giving people what they expect.

Amy Whalehouse is an orca. She’s also the Aquarium’s biggest star.

And Girl has one job: to look after the whale.

Then Amy dies.

Girl was there.

Now everyone wants to know why.

The media wants answers. The internet wants someone to blame. Her husband wants the truth. Her manager wants accountability. Her mother wants to spin her own story.

Girl wants none of it.

As the pressure closes in, Girl refuses to become the person everyone else needs her to be.

How far would you go to take back control?
