Pavement
Widely renowned as one of the most popular and influential bands to come out of the American underground in the 1990s, Californian indie rockers Pavement - Stephen Malkmus, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannberg, Mark Ibold, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West - are back together despite disbanding with some acrimony in 1999.
The band released five era-defining albums between 1992 and 1999, with Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain (1994), Wowee Zowee (1995), Brighten The Corners (1997), Terror Twilight (1999) and the 1993 compilation Westing (By Musket and Sextant) all reaching the UK Top 40 before a little known b-side, “Harness Your Hopes,” became an improbable algorithmic “hit” on Spotify and TikTok in 2017.
