Originally inspired by an American folksong, Ruth Crawford-Seeger fills Rissolty Rossolty to the brim with orchestral ideas. Truly striking, Ravel?s Tzigane uses virtually every technique in the violin?s toolkit. Pictures at an Exhibition is a musical journey round a gallery, featuring an old castle, a ballet of unhatched chicks and even a hut on hen?s legs.
