Polyester (15)
John Waters’ leftfield take on a Douglas Sirk-inspired melodrama follows the travails of tortured suburban housewife Francine Fishpaw.
Blessed with a keen sense of smell, but burdened by a philandering pornographer husband, a pregnant teenage daughter, and a son with a foot-stomping fetish, Francine gets a whiff of trouble around every corner.
Turning to the bottle as her life falls apart, Francine is offered a chance at deliverance with the appearance of a heartthrob named Todd Tomorrow.
