RNCM Collection of Historic Musical Instruments
Take a tour of the RNCM’s hidden instrument museum and discover rare and peculiar instruments and artefacts dating back almost 500 years.
These special opening hours are part of National Lottery Open Week and open to National Lottery players with proof of purchase (date of draw or purchase is not relevant).
In 2023, the RNCM was awarded over £206,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a new archive project, Throwing Open the Concert Doors.
Working alongside Manchester Digital Music Archive and Manchester Central Library, the project is conserving and digitising thousands of RNCM recordings, making them publicly available online and via a new interactive heritage booth installed at the College.
