Scheherazade ? Concerts for Schools Thursday 18 February 2027, 11am Stoller Hall Students ?5. Supporting staff free Performers Performers Musicians from Chetham?s School of Music Ellie Slorach conductor Tom Redmond presenter Inspired by epic adventure stories from 1,001 Arabian Nights, Scheherazade tells the story of a young woman captured by a fiendish King. She uses her wits to cheat death, distracting the King by telling him captivating stories that last 1,001 nights. Performed by?young?musicians from?Chetham?s?School of Music, this concert?will?introduce children to?instruments?of the orchestra through classical music. Inspired by some of the greatest stories ever told, including Aladin, Sinbad, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, Sheherazade was written by composer, Rimsky Kosakov, and will be conducted by Ellie Slorach and presented by Chetham?s Artistic Director, Tom Redmond.
