Mancunian jazz poet-performer Gus Fairbairn (a.k.a. Alabaster DePlume), who plays the saxophone out of the side of his mouth, is now known across the globe as the saxophonist who creates wonderful, wordless music, however back home he's most known to fervent fans as an outspoken poet and orator, beloved for his inspiring words of encouragement and sing-a-long-able songs about vulnerability, humanity, and courage which saw his 2022 album "Gold" crowned Gilles Peterson's 6 Music Album of the Year.
