The performance examines the violent endings of forbidden love—where lovers perish with eyes wide open, staring into the gaze that once gave them life.

Rooted in Arabic lyrical poetry and entwined bodies, Chahrour’s work transcends Western conventions, drawing from the rich traditions, political tensions, and religious undercurrents of his heritage.
