Allelujah (12A)
Based on the Alan Bennett play of the same name, Richard Eyre's intelligent, heartwarming film - starring Jennifer Saunders, Judi Dench, Derek Jacobi and Russell Tovey - serves as a plea to preserve the public institutions that care for our elders.
The threatened closure of a geriatric ward in a small Yorkshire hospital stirs an uprising from the local community, who invite a news crew to film a concert in honour of the hospital’s most distinguished nurse.
