Andres Cepeda

Andres Cepeda

The musical history of Andrés Cepeda can be divided into two parts: before and after Poligamia (1989-1998), a Bogota rock group that managed to position several songs on national radio that became classics such as ‘Desvanecer ‘ and ‘My Generation’. With Poligamia there were 8 years of great successes and 4 record works.

Since his first solo production with FM Discos, I know how to die (1999), recognition has come hand in hand with each of his works. In March 2001, he launched his second production called El Carpintero. In 2002 he published what would be the first DVD of a Colombian artist recorded live, Siempre Queda una Canción performed at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá and in 2003 Canción Rota, his third album was released.

In 2005 he presented his work Para Amarte Mejor, an album that placed three number one songs on Colombian radio, ‘Para Amarte Mejor’, ‘Voy a Extrarte’ and ‘No Hace Sentido’. Only two months after its release, he received a CD Gold and Platinum for its sales in Colombia and Latin America. In 2007 he released a reissue of “Para Amarte Mejor”, which he published in the United States under the Univisión label, including two new songs by maestro Jorge Luis Piloto, “Pronóstico” and “Si fues mi Enemigo”, songs that gave him international recognition and they earned him a 2007 Latin Grammy, in the Best Male Pop Album category.
