Anna Clyne In Focus
With tickets from £2.50, this lunchtime celebration of composer Anna Clyne and her works launches with an innovative exploration of electroacoustic chamber music, redefining the relationship between music and technology.
Described as ‘bracingly modern yet with elements that seem to conjure up the distant musical past’ (Chicago Classical Review), the afternoon opens with Anna Clyne’s Fits + Starts – a piece that uses acoustic recordings of harpsichord, cello, and viola, which have been layered and manipulated to form the backdrop for the solo cellist.
This cutting-edge programme also sees a new work by RNCM student James Weatherley-Buss exploring the sound world of flute and electronics.
Anna Clyne Fits and Starts for cello and tape
Anna Clyne Shorthand for cello + string quintet
James Weatherley-Buss New work for flute and electronics
Anna Clyne Steelworks for flute, bass clarinet, percussion and tape
