Blue Orchids
Formed in 1980 by Martin Bramah, a founding member of The Fall, and christened by John Cooper Clarke, post-punk band the Blue Orchids signed to Rough Trade, released a clutch of well-received records and acted as backing band for the Velvet Underground's Nico before splitting in 1985.
The band have periodically reformed with Bramah has been their presiding genius throughout.
