Culture Monday: Musical Edition

Join Manchester Museum for an exciting day of culture at Manchester Museum and the Martin Harris Centre
Manchester Museum opens its doors for a special tour aimed at people aged 50 and over in this age friendly Culture Monday. As the Museum is not open to the public on Mondays, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy the galleries at a quiet time and to get closer to the collections, guided by members of the Visitor Team and the wonderful volunteers. After the tour, you are invited to a lunchtime concert hosted by their friends at the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama. University of Manchester music students will present a beautiful medley of praise and worship songs from the Nigerian gospel music tradition, singing in English, Nigerian Pidgin English, Yoruba and Igbo. Click here to see the University of Manchester Nigerian Gospel Singing Ensemble performing last summer at the Manchester Museum. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch. The museum tour will take place 11am-12.30pm, there will be a lunch break 12.30-1pm and then enjoy the concert at the Martin Harris Centre 1.10-2pm.
This free event can be booked here or by emailing maria.ramosacevedo@manchester.ac.uk or by calling 07818 578 474.
