Dark Angel
Californian thrash metal legends Dark Angel debuted in 1985 with the album “We Have Arrived”, but it was “Darkness Descends”, released a year later, that made their mark on the annals of metal. The material, which at the time of its premiere was distinguished by its unprecedented aggression, is today seen as one of the most influential albums for death metal.
In their history, they have gone through many lineup changes, and following the death of guitarist Jim Durkin in 2023, there are no original members left.
The band currently consists of Gene Hoglan - the legendary drummer, known among others from Death, Testament and Strapping Young Lad, guitarist Erik Meyer, vocalist Ron Rinehart, bassist Mike Gonzalez, and more recently they were joined by Hoglan's wife, guitarist Laura Christine.
