Multi-platinum Mancunian singer-songwriter David Gray first hit fame in 2020 with his fourth studio album, White Ladder, which eventually sold seven million copies despite not even charting on its original release in 1998.
Not only did it propel the folk rocker into the mainstream, but it remains in the top 30 best-selling British albums of all time and the best-selling album ever in Ireland, where it reached the top of the charts over one year before it slowly crawled to success in the UK.
The album spawned the classic hit singles "Babylon", "Please Forgive Me", "This Year's Love", "Sail Away", and a cover of Soft Cell's "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", while the avid Manchester United fan and wildlife enthusiast would go on to score further hits with "The One I Love", "Be Mine", "Hospital Food" and "The Other Side".
