Uncover Music presents DBA! DBA!?emerged?from the gritty underbelly of Liverpool's music scene in early 2024. A band of misfits and odd parts that somehow crashed together and clicked into place. DBA! was birthed in a DIY demo studio tucked into the literal basement drain of a Liverpool nightclub. The damp and unorthodox space - rented in defiance of?skeptical?glances from peers - became a safe space where late night sessions gave way to the creation of their sound, blending 90s alternative rock, garage rock and indie, drawing from bands such as Eels, Pavement, The Breeders, Elastica and Beck.??? The name DBA! itself is a statement of intent, best left?unraveled. It?encapuslates?an ethos: unpolished,?introspective?and weird. From their subterranean origins, the band wasted no time propelling themselves out into the open. Recording with engineer Sophie Ellis - a serendipitous collaboration after years of near-misses - the band honed a guitar driven sound laced with vivid & brooding lyricism. Their debut single 'sinkorswim' was released late 2024, achieving some extensive support from BBC Radio 6 tastemakers, such as Huw Stephens, Craig Charles & Emily Pilbeam where the track was made BBC introducing track of the week & achieved an 8/10 score on the roundtable show, with?particular high?praise from Abbie McCarthy. Their follow up 2 singles were met with strong radio support, including premieres on Huw Stephens' show and support from Tom Ravenscroft and John Kennedy, and even a spin of their track "D.P.D." from an?all time?hero of the band, Iggy Pop.?? The band's debut EP released in April 25 and was met with praise from outlets such as DORK magazine, who made the band the cover of their HYPE playlist, and awarded the EP a?4/5 star?review. Other early press buzz came from outlets such as DIY, So Young, Rough Trade, Indie Is Not a Genre and Backseat Mafia where their unique chemistry and raw temperament was hailed.?? Live, the band started a the year playing more intimate shows across the UK, building up to a run of more prestigious slots in the past few months - supporting bands such as White Denim & Being Dead, headlining a packed Supersonic club show in Paris and joining the line up for Left of the Dial festival in Rotterdam. With more tours and releases on the horizon, DBA!'s story is just beginning to unravel.?
