Composer, producer, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Kelly Moran made an early name for herself in New York collaborating with dance performance and composing for long-term John Cage collaborator Margaret Leng Tan.
As an accomplished and highly sought-after composer, Moran has collaborated with artists such as Oneohtrix Point Never and FKA Twigs as part of their live ensembles.
As a solo artist, Moran has developed a unique strand of experimental piano compositions across a critically acclaimed discography but it was with the 2017 album Bloodroot that she began to reach wider attention, making innovative use of piano and electroacoustic instruments, purpose-built by Moran herself and touching upon the many diverse musical styles from which she finds inspiration.
It appeared in Albums of the Year lists in Experimental (Rolling Stone), Classical (New York Times) and Metal (New York Observer) genres, reflecting this range.
Influenced by contemporary classical, alternative, and electronic music, and playing to a wide, arresting array of styles: dazzling inflections of jazz and dream pop, classical composition and black metal, darkness and light, she has perfomed in prestigious venues around the world.
