How much do you love your homeland? What was it like to grow up in Taiwan, when your powerful neighbour China denies your country's own very right to exist and threatens with random military drills?
Do you love it enough so that, as a queer boy, you’d endure the dehumanising military service before running away?
Kuan-wen recounts how he traded his beloved island for the rainy British isles and how he endured the dehumanising military service as an effeminate gay boy.
The non-Taiwanese are invited to have a glimpse into how Taiwanese people cope with the endless threat from their powerful neighbour China.
