Paloma, a professor and activist, disappears without a trace following her protests against the local mining industry in Mexican film-maker Amat Escalante's Perdidos en la Noche.
Five years later, her 20-year old son Emiliano, who has a great sense of justice, searches for the culprit. However, due to the incompetent judicial system, he takes matters into his own hands.
A note leads him to the summer house of the rich and eccentric Aldama family, where the clan is led by the prominent matriarch Carmen Aldama. In search of the truth, Emiliano plunges into a dark world full of secrets, lies and revenge.
