The Lowry’s annual mini-musical theatre festival REWRITES returns with 3 new musicals in development.

“Mallory On The Mountain” is a brand-new musical with book, music and lyrics by Ollie Mills. 

This concert version of the musical will feature a cast led by Alex Cosgriff as George Mallory and Emma Harvey as Ruth Mallory.

Witness the gripping true story of British mountaineer George Mallory and his journey from the small town of Mobberley to the heights of Mount Everest. As he battles the perishing cold with his trusted companion, Sandy Irvine, George relives the pivotal chapters of his life that led him to this fateful moment. 

Currently in development with Imaginality Productions, music from the show debuted in The Lowry’s October 2021 Rewrites festival, before receiving its first full workshop at Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre.
