Meriel Price - Building Sights

Meriel Price is a cutting-edge and multifaceted artist, known for her work as a saxophonist, actress, composer, and visual artist, and as part of Made in Manchester - a three-day festival celebrating the amazing breadth of new music created at the RNCM by staff and students, past and present - she’s written a special 50th anniversary piece to celebrate the building.

No stranger to pushing boundaries, Meriel’s music is immersive and visceral, constantly challenging the expectations of audience members. Set on the College’s lower concourse, Building Sights (world première) invites listeners to explore the sounds and sights of the RNCM building, blurring the boundaries between the intentional and unintentional, private and public, and art and everyday life.
