Neil Cowley

Cementing his position as a dazzling composer of extraordinary talent, it is far too simplistic to slot London pianist Neil Cowley's thrilling music into the jazz pigeonhole; sure, it is instrumental but his songs without words have the power to break down standard perceptions of genre. He has embraced a new musical direction (since the Neil Cowley Trio briefly disbanded), incorporating electronic, ambient and neo-classical production. 

Nourishing his fondness for grand, commanding sounds, Cowley's music is expansive, dynamic and deeply engaging, taking the listener on an exciting musical journey from pomp and splendour to poignant, lyrical episodes; from sprightly and whimsical to powerful, rhythmic melodies.

Known for his remarkable and engaging live performances, which always maintain a quirky sense of humour at their core, he was keyboardist for soul and funk acts Mission Impossible, the Brand New Heavies, Gabrielle and Zero 7 and the session pianist on Adele's 19 and 21, Birdy's Birdy and Fire Within, Stereophonics' Keep Calm and Carry On, Professor Green's At Your Inconvenience, and Emeli Sandé's Our Version of Events among others.
