Opera House Theatre Tour

Opened in 1912, The Opera House is one of Manchester's oldest and most beautiful theatres. Today the theatre plays host to hundreds of performances each year and remains an important part of Manchester's vibrant cultural offer.

The tours are a great way to explore the theatre and hear about its amazing history!  Tour the beautiful auditorium and have special access to restricted areas of the building.   The tour will be concluded with a Q&A with the theatre's Creative Learning tour guide, giving you some time to chat about your favourite stories from the day. Please be aware that tour routes can vary and access to restricted areas of the building, including backstage, are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed. 

Meeting point for Opera House Tours is The Main Entrance. Tours last approximately 90 minutes.

Routes may change and do involve a large number of stairs as there is no lift access at the Opera House. 

Please be sure to arrive 5 minutes before start time as doors will open at 11am sharp. Latecomers may not be admitted after 11:05 due to the nature of the route.
