Opera House Theatre Tour

Opened in 1912, The Opera House is one of Manchester's oldest and most beautiful theatres. Today the theatre plays host to hundreds of performances each year and remains an important part of Manchester's vibrant cultural offer.

Our Tours are a great way to explore the theatre and hear about its amazing history! Tour the beautiful auditorium and have special access to restricted areas of the building. The tour has plenty of opportunities to ask questions with our Creative Learning tour guide, giving you some time to chat about your favourite stories from the day.

Tours will last approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Please be sure to arrive 5 minutes before start time as doors will open at 11am sharp. Latecomers may not be admitted.

Please note:

Tour tickets must be booked in advance as tickets are not available 'on the door'.

Meeting point for Opera House Tours is The Main Entrance.

This is a venue tour and not a performance.

Tours do not include show ticket.

Access to restricted areas of the building, including backstage, are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed.

Access information: Routes may change and do involve a large number of stairs as there is no lift access at the Opera House.
