With the help of John Peel, the industrial/alt-rock Stourbridge band's earliest singles became surprise chart hits in the late 80s and early 90s thanks to their many samples of other songs and musical scores.
Tracks like "Get the Girl! Kill the Baddies!", "X Y & Zee", Karmadrome", and "Eat Me Drink Me Love Me" broke the UK Top 20 singles charts, "Def Con One" was hit on the U.S. indie charts, and "Ich Bin Ein Auslander" - which addressed English attitudes towards immigration - has been covered numerous times in Germany.
