RNCM Baroque Soloists

RNCM Baroque Soloists

With tickets from £2.50, RNCM students, staff, and visiting artists perform alongside one another in the weekly Thursday lunchtime concert series. Drop in during your lunch break and enjoy the best of ensemble music in the heart of Manchester.

Immerse yourself in the soundscapes of baroque music as we explore two incredible cantatas from this era, directed by our Teaching Fellow in Historical Performance, Roger Hamilton.

Coming in as a slightly reluctant third choice, Bach took up his position as Kantor in the Thomasschule in Leipzig in 1723 after both Christoph Graupner and Georg Philipp Telemann turned it down. To mark the 300th anniversary of this occasion, Roger Hamilton leads our students in one of Bach’s finest examples of this form, Jauchzet Gott (BWV 51), but not before a performance of one of Graupner’s 1400 cantatas.
