Salford Choral Society & Baroque in the North Orchestra - Glorious Baroque
Join Salford Choral Society and the acclaimed talented musicians of the Manchester-based period instrument ensemble Baroque in the North Orchestra for an evening of popular baroque music – featuring a performance of Antonio Vivaldi ’s Gloria in D major RV 589, one of sacred music’s most uplifting choral works.
Also included in the programme is Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s short choral masterpiece Magnificat in C major, and JS Bach’s early church cantata Der Herr denket an uns (The Lord careth for us) – a brief piece based on the text of Psalm 115.
