The Go-Between (PG)
Director Joseph Losey and screenwriter Harold Pinter bring a steely intelligence to the period drama with this 1971 adaptation of L.P. Hartley’s story of an illicit romance between a wealthy young woman and a tenant farmer, unforgettably played by Julie Christie and Alan Bates.
The story is told from the perspective of the boy who is asked to deliver messages between the lovers.
