With Nick Hemming's intensely personal and honest lyrics complemented by a warm, timeless, seamless blend of folk, grandiose pop and indie, Burton-upon-Trent to Brighton via London Ivor Novello-nominated band The Leisure Society have been dubbed "the English answer to Grizzly Bear, Department of Eagles and Fleet Foxes."
Hemming was formerly of early 1990s indie band She Talks to Angels, which included actor Paddy Considine, and film director Shane Meadows. Hemming wrote and performed music for the films A Room for Romeo Brass and Dead Man's Shoes.
