The Victoria Wood-a-Thon

A night celebrating Victoria Wood the legendary comedy writer and performer whose work has been taken to the bosom of the queer community.
Join Manchester’s camp and queer film and TV club Make A Scene for an evening jam packed with laughs, drag queens with wrinkly tights, musical tributes, special guests, dressing up and more episodes of Victoria Wood shows than you can shake a garibaldi at!
Hosted by Make A Scene’s Gary James Williams with drag icons Anna Phylactic (Drag S.O.S., Dragula) and Banksie (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) as Acorn Antiques’ Mrs Overall and Miss Babs, the evening will see full screenings of classic episodes of sketch show Victora Wood As Seen On TV and Victoria’s sitcom Dinnerladies on the big screen interspersed with sing-a-longs to classic Victoria Wood songs, chats with special guests about Vic’s work and what she means to the LGBTQ+ community, games, audience participation and even a costume catwalk where you can show off your best Victoria Wood inspired look.
With thanks to the BFI National TV Archive.
Dressing up is encouraged and rewarded with the best Victoria Wood inspired costume winning a trophy and grand prize.
