Thursday Lunchtimes: Dvořák Symphony No 8

Our students, staff, and visiting artists perform alongside one another in our weekly Thursday lunchtime concert series. Drop in during your lunch break and enjoy the best of ensemble music in the heart of Manchester.?
According to Dvo??k, his eighth symphony was meant to be ?different from the other symphonies, with individual thoughts worked out in a new way? leading to a decidedly more upbeat and genial work when compared to his more sombre Symphony No 7 or profound Symphony No 9.?
His eighth symphony, however, is unique for its rootedness in Dvo??k?s Czech homeland with a sonic landscape depicting hunting horns and birdsongs interwoven with traditional dance music and finishing with an exuberant display of brass.?
Bringing this lyrical work to life, our students join principals from the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in another riveting side-by-side performance. Join us as the musicians of today perform with those of tomorrow.
