Original Punk pioneer TV Smith, founding member of The Adverts who, along with likes of The Sex Pistols and The Clash led the UK Punk rebellion. The Adverts released 2 groundbreaking albums Crossing The Red Sea with The Adverts, and The Cast of Thousands; as well as a number of classic singles including Gary Gilmore's Eyes and One Chord Wonders before splitting. Further hits followed with TV Smiths Explorers and the powerful single Tomahawk Cruise before TV embarked on a solo career which has seen him release 14 albums (most recently A Diffrnt World with Richard Strange) and continue to tour relentlessly (often performing well over 100 gigs each year). Known for his powerful live performances; his well crafted songwriting and hard hitting lyrics; TV Smith remains the embodiment of a truly independent force to be reckoned with. Following a recent solo tour of America, as well as tours with The Damned and Stiff Little Fingers, TV Smith returns to Manchester for a solo acoustic date at The Castle. Support comes from The Harveys, previously known as Harveys Rabbit who, following a tour with The Fall, radio sessions for the likes of John Peel, and their recording of the Robert Forster song "Is This What You Call Change?" gained a solid reputation with the indie faithful. Since their reemergence as The Harveys, they have released a number of singles on The German Shepherd label, and established themselves as a strong live band playing gigs with the likes of The Monochrome Set; Richard Strange, and The Distractions. Manchester's own legendary Ian "Moet" Moss, been making hard hitting music in this part of the world since the days of Punk, notably with The Hamsters and his band Fourcandles. As well as producing great music Ian has also been proving himself recently as a great writer with his recent books 45 and A Part of No Tribe. He starts proceedings with a spoken word performance.
