World of Music - Sounds of India featuring Jason Singh and Friends
For this special commission, musician, beatboxer and sound artist Jason Singh will perform a live “mixtape” of music inspired by Indian vocal percussion, Indian classical ragas, electronica, jazz, house, hip-hop and contemporary classical forms.
This double bill will also feature an ensemble of young musicians from Manchester’s secondary schools taught by Rakesh Joshi. They will perform a piece learnt for this evening celebrating the varied forms of South Asian music.
