BOYS by Ella Hickson
The Kings would like to announce their latest production of their inaugural season, BOYS by Ella Hickson. Hickson’s firecracker play makes it’s Manchester premiere at The King’s Arms from 21st April - 8th May 2026.
It’s the final day for the Class of 2011. Benny, Mack, Timp and Cam are due out of their five bedroom flat later this week; five bedrooms, five chairs, four boys - and one hell of a party. Stepping into a world that doesn’t want them, these boys start to wonder whether there’s a point in getting any older.
Artistic Leader John O’Neill said: “The Kings are delighted to present BOYS to Manchester audiences for the very first time. This bold and dynamic production will bring an electrifying energy to our pub theatre space, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences. Brought to life by a fantastic company, led by the talented Oli Hurst, this promises to be an unmissable night of quality theatre.”
The Manchester premiere will be directed by award-winning director Oli Hurst (The Angry Brigade; UK Tour, The BBC’s First Homosexual; UK Tour, MOJO & Orphans; The King’s Arms). The production will star Olly Rhodes (Waterloo Road; BBC, Hollyoaks; Channel 4), Megan Keaveny (Much Ado About Nothing; RSC, Is This Thing On?; UK Tour), Paddy Stafford (The Battle; Birmingham Rep, MOJO; The King’s Arms), Harvey Weedon (Crookhaven; BBC), Hope Yolanda (Wizard of Oz; Dukes Lancaster), and Rafe Slade (Ear Wig; Old Red Lion).
