Jon Coley + Solis

Red Balloon Music is proud to present a very special joint headline show from JON COLEY and SOLIS in the beautiful and intimate surroundings of Sacred Trinity Church.

JON COLEY: Staffordshire-born, Chester-living Jon Coley is something of an underground figure in Manchester's music scene. Combining soul and folk with intelligent original songwriting, and admired for his unique guitar playing (taking influence from performers such as Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Wizz Jones and especially John Martyn) and for his passionate vocal performances, reminiscent of Van Morrison and Amos Lee. Jon has played alongside John Renbourn, Blind Boy Paxton, Michael Chapman, Ralph McTell, Jon Gomm, Wizz Jones, Dylan LeBlanc, Chance McCoy and shared a stage and billing with many more, including Foss Patterson and Danny Thompson of John Martyn's band at venues as varied as New York's Bitter End Club, and Liverpool's Echo Arena.

SOLIS: Solis is an Irish songstress based in Manchester who is captivating audiences with her alluring, harmony-soaked melodies. Influenced by Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley from a very young age, Solis has placed her original touch on folk/pop music. Solis' ethereal vocals carry a profound, elegant charm and her music is sure to raise the hairs on the back of your neck. A captivating presence on the live stage, Solis has had success playing a wide variety of shows ranging from supporting Blossoms at Yes in Manchester to supporting Phoebe Green at Soup Kitchen. Other gig highlights include supporting Irish indie-rock act Inhaler, Fuzzy Sun and an intimate gig through Sofar Sounds in Manchester and Liverpool.

Support from DANNY ADDISON: Danny Addison is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Manchester who writes alternative folk music. His 2020 debut album, 'Colour Songs' was described as a "lush, almost cinematic set that evokes the good old days of well-produced, melodic pop music"
