Manchester Camerata & Speakers Corner Quartet

As part of Unquiet, the new contemporary classical music series from Manchester Camerata for the brave and the curious, this is the world’s first Speakers Corner Quartet orchestral show.

Joining them will be Coby Sey, Confucius MC, James Massiah, Lea Sen, Leilah, Tawiah and Eska performing pieces from their critically acclaimed album Further Out Than The Edge and more.

Teaming up with internationally renowned conductor Robert Ames, synonymous with collaborations in this sphere, having previously collaborated with Frank Ocean, Actress, Sigur Rós, among others, this show promises to be a night of musical innovation from three creative forces not to be missed. 

Speakers Corner Quartet is a testament to the power of collaboration and community. Fifteen years in the making, they now find themselves at the epicentre of the South London jazz music scene and as one of the most influential groups to come out of the city.

When playing together, they see themselves as a singular entity with a hive-mind mentality, working together to create a unique experience for their audience. 

This show will also include the world premiere of new work by Royal Philharmonic Society composer Blasio Kavuma – written especially for Manchester Camerata and AMC Gospel Choir.

Unquiet sees Manchester Camerata working with a rotating cast of contemporary artists, bringing fresh new collaborations and world premieres to Manchester and beyond.
