Terence Davies Archive - In Conversation with Edge Hill University
Join archivists from Edge Hill University for a fascinating exploration of the personal archive of master British filmmaker Terence Davies. This in conversation event will uncover the riches of the Terence Davies Archive ? a remarkable gateway into the personal and professional world of the late filmmaker. It contains everything from handwritten screenplays to beautiful set plans; from scribbled notebooks to family correspondence; and from film reels to blu-rays. This discussion will be led by Edge Hill University archivists Dan Copley and Sophie Smith. Edge Hill University became proud caretakers of the Terence Davies Archive in 2024, when it was gifted to the university by the Terence Davies Estate. Terence Davies, an honorary doctor of Edge Hill University, is regarded as one of Britain?s greatest filmmakers. He is known for acclaimed features like The House of Mirth, Benediction and Distant Voices, Still Lives ? several of which screen at HOME in November.? ? This event is free but ticketed. Please book to ensure your place.
