PRESIDENT
Despite never having released any music, anonymous masked metal band PRESIDENT first appeared on the line-up of the 2025 Download Festival, confusing fans as no other details were released as to who the band was.
Shortly afterward, the band created an Instagram page and started posting cryptic teasers with their debut single "In The Name of the Father", named "Tune of the Week" on BBC Radio 1 in May 2025 and they appeared on the cover of Rock Sound magazine.
While multiple publications have reported on speculation that the project is led by Busted and Fightstar singer Charlie Simpson, others have pointed to the fact several companies tied to the band are also used by another masked band, Sleep Token (who were also headlining Download Festival in 2025), while they use similar iconography to Deftones side-project Crosses; they also covered Deftones' "Change (In the House of Flies)" at a July 2025 concert in London.
